Workspace, team and plans
A workspace is your team's own space on Ploa: its store accounts, apps, people and their agents. No other workspace sees any of it.
Members and roles
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, and choose who's in the workspace and what each member may do. |
| Member | Sees the whole workspace, and changes what an owner gave them permission for. |
- Inviting: owners invite people by email from Settings › Members, as a member or as another owner. The invite is a one-time link, good for 72 hours, where they make their passkey and join.
- One workspace per account: an email that already has a Ploa account can't be invited to another workspace; invite another address.
- Removing: owners remove a member, or cancel an invite not yet used, from the same page. No one can remove themselves.
- Signing in: everyone signs in on their own, with a passkey or an email code: see Signing in.
- Agents: your agents act as you, under their own name in the audit log, and never do more than you may. The same goes for every member's agents.
What a member may do
When inviting a member, the owner picks their permissions as tiles; a new member starts with apps and builds, the store page and reviews. Later, Permissions on the member's row changes them, and turning a tile off takes it away at once, for the member's agents and tokens too. Seeing the workspace needs no permission; changing it does. Owners have every permission.
| Permission | What it lets them change |
|---|---|
| Apps and builds | Add apps, build them and send builds to testers, and the app's web. |
| Store page | Texts, screenshots, in-app products and offers, events and marketing. |
| App Review and production | Send to App Review, withdraw, release and roll out, put a web version live, and approve agents' requests for them. |
| Reviews | Reply to customer reviews, and approve agents' replies. |
| Stores, keys and GitHub | Store connections, signing keys, GitHub and where builds run. |
| Sales and revenue | See the money in sales and subscriptions. |
| Agents and tokens | Make tokens for agents and the CLI. A token never does more than the member who made it may. |
| Plan and billing | Change the plan, pay, see invoices, and turn on what costs money (such as iOS builds on GitHub's Macs). |
| Security | The workspace's encryption and how its keys are sealed. |
| Autonomous agents | Agents that act at once, without asking anyone first. |
The last three let a member spend the workspace's money, change its security, or let agents act alone, so give them only to people you trust with that. Inviting and removing people, and setting permissions, stay with owners.
Notifications
What happened sits under your approvals, on the same page (Approvals and notices) and on What now: a store rejected or approved a version, a build failed or reached testers, an approved request didn't go through, a store turned something else down, changes wait in Play Console, a store connection stopped working, a TestFlight build expires within a week, or a one- or two-star review came in. You only read them; once you've seen one it's marked read, for you alone.
Install the dashboard as an app on your phone or computer (it's a web app), then turn notifications on in Settings › Notifications, once on each device; Send a test checks they arrive. On iPhone and iPad, add Ploa to the Home Screen first (in Safari: Share, then Add to Home Screen) and open it from there. You're told when:
- an agent or the CLI asks for an approval: tap the notification to open it and decide;
- every notice above: a store's answer, a build that failed or reached testers, changes waiting in Play Console and the rest;
- for owners, every security alert, by email too: see Alerts.
Email is your choice, kind by kind, in Settings › Notifications: what needs you (a rejection, a failed build, a request that didn't go through, a broken connection) is on to begin with, the rest is off until you turn it on.
Your agent hears of the same things at the end of its next Ploa tool's answer, once each, so it can tell you and do what's next; ploa_news lists the last week's.
Plans
Every plan has all of Ploa, Free too, but for the two things under the table. The plans differ in how much: apps, members, the hosting that comes with them, and support.
| Free | Starter | Pro | Team | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $9 a month, $90 a year | $29 a month, $290 a year | $99 a month, $990 a year |
| Apps | 1: iPhone, Android and its web | 1 | 3, then $10 a month an app | 20, then $6 a month an app |
| Members | 1 | 1 | 3 | Unlimited |
| The web | A basic showcase site at a free address on ploa.app: 100 MB, 1 GB of traffic a month | A showcase site on a domain you own or at a free address: 5 GB, 50 GB of traffic a month, no badge | For each app a showcase site, or a web app with its own API, jobs and database: 10 GB, 100 GB of traffic a month, a free address on ploa.app or up to 3 domains you own connected | For each app a showcase site, or a web app with its server side, with more room: 50 GB, 500 GB of traffic a month, a free address on ploa.app or any number of domains you own connected |
| Support | By email | Full: email and the support screen | Full: email and the support screen | Priority |
| On every plan | App Review and production, the store page, purchases and sales, autonomous agents, product pages and tests, PR previews, TestFlight and internal testing, preflight, the CLI and MCP, and your keys sealed in Google Cloud HSM (or your own key in Google Cloud KMS or AWS KMS) | |||
Two things are on Pro and Team only: the web app's server side in Ploa's cloud, and Android builds sent to Google Play through Ploa. On Free and Starter, the server side can run in your own Google Cloud, and Android builds go straight from the build machine to Google Play.
Yearly plans get two months free. Prices are in US dollars; where prices usually include VAT or GST (the EU, the UK, Australia and others) it's included, and elsewhere sales tax is added at checkout. Paid plans open soon; until then every account starts free. The current prices are always on the pricing section.
Free has room for one app, and no members besides you. Once paid plans are open, a second app or an invite on Free asks you to move to Pro, and an invite past Pro's three members (counting invites not yet used) to move to Team. Apps and members you have already are never taken away.
Hosting by plan
Your app's website is hosted on Ploa, with the room your plan comes with. Each app past Pro's count adds 3 GB of storage and 30 GB of traffic a month, and past Team's 2.5 GB and 25 GB. Every site, its versions and its domains: Web: site and web app.
- On Free, a site that reaches its room stops until next month, and a small "Made with Ploa" shows on it. Starter, $9 a month, gives 5 GB, 50 GB of traffic a month, connecting a domain you own and full support, without the badge: change the plan in Settings › Billing and usage.
- Addresses and domains. Every site gets a free address on ploa.app, such as
myapp.ploa.app. Ploa doesn't sell domains: on Starter, Pro and Team you connect a domain you already own. - On Pro and Team you choose what happens past the room, with extra usage in Settings › Billing and usage. It starts off: a site stops until next month when its traffic reaches the room, and a deploy that doesn't fit the storage is refused. Turn it on, and the sites keep going: you pay only for what's past the room, $0.10 a GB of traffic and $0.20 a GB of storage a month. Only an owner can turn it on or off, at any time; a member with the billing permission can't.
- The web app's server side comes with Pro and Team, one for each app, with no package to pick. On any plan it can run in your own Google Cloud instead, which Google bills you for. See The web app's server side.
- Settings › Hosting shows the room, what your sites use, every site and every domain you connected.
Builds
Builds on your own Mac, on your GitHub or in your Google Cloud are free on every plan, with no count. They run on your own account there, so GitHub's minutes and Google Cloud's build time are yours. On Pro and Team, an app's Android builds can also be sent to Google Play through Ploa; on Free and Starter they go straight from the build machine to Google Play, signed with the same upload key.
Billing
Payments are handled by Paddle, Ploa's reseller, which also takes care of tax and invoices. You buy plans only, on one subscription: there are no add-ons or servers to buy. An owner, or a member with the Plan and billing permission, changes the plan, the payment method and the billing details in Settings › Billing and usage, and sees the invoices there. Refunds: see the refund policy.
